Semester 2 Begins

Welcome to Semester 2,

I hope you are ready for the start of Semester 2 this morning. It’s certainly unique to begin with a late start. Most of you will have the same students with only minor changes, while those with new courses and rosters will have time to focus on the getting-to-know-you process.

High School Teachers

As you finalize your grades, please remember to complete your Work-Based Learning reporting document. You should have received an email with links last week from your Department Head. If you need any assistance, don’t hesitate to reach out to the CTE Office.

Conditional Renewal

This week, I will be speaking with the Certification Office to clarify inconsistencies in renewal guidance found online. Once confirmed, I will provide clear instructions on what is required for renewal. A new component of the process is the training plan requirement. While I created plans for the Audit, each of you will be responsible for developing your own plan for renewal purposes. You can access the Blank Training Plan Document [HERE].

CTSO & Field Trip Travel

As we move into the Second Semester, please ensure that all Travel Request information is sent to me before submitting the Travel Request form. If I do not receive it beforehand, I will not be able to add it to our spreadsheet for approval in the Superintendent's office. This step is essential to ensure a smooth and timely approval process.

Updates from Last Week

  • Budget Discussions: Chelsea has been compiling data on allocations and expenditures from the past three years to inform the 2025-2026 budget. She will complete this work this week, and discussions will begin soon.

  • Audit: All required documents were submitted last week. The OSPI team is now reviewing our submissions, a process expected to take about three weeks. We provided all requested materials in the first round and are hopeful that additional requests will be minimal.

  • School Meetings: Met with WMS regarding future FTE and program planning.

This Week’s Priorities

  • Intranet: The CTE Office will be sharing the CTE Teacher Timeline with Webmasters to create a dedicated Intranet page with key dates and links.

  • SchooLinks Meeting: Discussion on Statewide Rollout.

  • School Meetings: Continuing meetings with administrators to discuss future FTE and program planning

  • New Market: Administrative Council Meeting.

Let’s have a great start to the semester! Please reach out if you have any questions.
