 🌟 CTE Weekly Highlights 🌟

👋  With winter break now behind us, we’re moving quickly toward the close of Semester 1 and continuing the important work of ensuring our students are on track to pass courses, graduate, and grow into the incredible young people they are becoming. This stretch of the year can feel heavy, so I hope you’re finding small moments to rest, recharge, and take care of yourselves as you keep showing up for kids. You are doing meaningful, impactful work—and it shows. 💛

🔙 Looking Back

📚 Professional Growth – Certification updates were sent to those with conditional endorsements expiring in June 2026. 🏤 OSPI Supports – Paula served on interview panels for all three OSPI Program Supervisor positions. The OSPI CTE Department is hopeful to be fully staffed by the end of March.

📝 Framework Review Schedule – Program frameworks must be updated every five years to ensure alignment with current standards. This year, Family and Consumer Science documents are due for submission. Next January, Business and Marketing will be up for review.

💻️ PC Minis Available – CTE currently has approximately 20 one-year-old PC Minis available from a collapsed lab. If a small desktop could support equipment or serve as a secondary machine in your space, please let us know. Any units not claimed by CTE will be released to Basic Ed at the end of January.

📅 Coming Up This Week

💰 TILT Meeting – The District Teaching and Instructional Leadership Team will meet this week to take next steps.

💻 Work-Based Learning Reporting – Semester 1 – The CTE Department is working with SIS and our surrounding schools already on Qmlativ to determine the reporting process for Semester 1 WBL activities. Please remember that reporting is required in order to receive federal funding, so participation from every teacher is essential.

🤝 South Sound Council – Our regional General Advisory Council meets this month. The CTE Office will be presenting the Career Choices/AVID freshman framework and seeking approval to renew conditional certificates set to expire in June 2026.

As always, thank you for the care, creativity, and commitment you bring to your students and programs every day. I hope you have a wonderful week ahead and are able to enjoy the long weekend as we honor and recognize Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday.
