I have spent significant time in the last two years working to ensure CTE Budget Stability.  Apportionment for CTE has remained the same while costs have increased, but we understand that CTE programs can be costly to operate with fidelity.  We reached a solution that will serve us well.   The OSD CTE Office will be working to set individual classroom budgets for the 24-25 school year.  We would like to get your feedback to guide that work.  While we can’t commit to providing you with your requested budget, we will do our best. After some discussion, we found differences in how teachers would like to request budgets, please choose a method that best serves you.  Examples:  XX $ per student for consumables, or XX $ per classroom for larger items for classes without consumables, a combination of these, or something completely different.   Please send in whatever format works best for you.

Happy Monday!  I don't know about you but I love Spring, it is the time of year when I take a moment to reflect on where I am and where I am heading.   This year is odd for me personally as I reflect on a year of health battles coupled with the information that I will be welcoming four grandbabies to my world between July and October of this year.  I have also received feedback from some of you this year that has me reflecting on how I must continue to adjust past practices to meet the needs of the people in my life.  To those who have kindly offered feedback on how that feels for you, thank you.  I have heard and will continue to work to be more present and reflective.   Some of you have completed your annual Program Documents which is great, if you have not completed the documents and have questions or concerns, you may find your answer on the Annual Program Docs FAQ s or feel free to email me your question.

Greeting! Today is the deadline for submitting new course requests to OSPI for 1st Semester 2024-2025 SY.  Those of you who contacted me with your requests are all set, as I submitted your documents last week. As we approach the end of the school year, please take a moment to acknowledge your peers for their hard work with CTE Clubs and for enhancing student learning beyond the classroom.  We have such talented teachers and students here at OSD! For those of you who have already completed and uploaded your Annual Program documents to your Shared Google Drive, well done.  If you haven't yet completed these tasks, please remember that the deadline is May 1st.  Once all documents are submitted, the CTE Office will review and consolidate them to be submitted to the South Sound Council General Advisory Committee, and then prepare the annual Board Report. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to CTE Education!

I hope you all had a restful spring break and had the chance to do what makes you happy. As for me, I'm looking forward to a vacation with my family. I'll be out of the office from April 10th to April 16th. During this time, I'll check my email and the document shared below at least once every morning. I received some questions from a few of you who worked on your annual program documents during the break. To make sure everyone benefits from the questions and answers, I created a shared Google Document for FAQs . If you have a question, please add it to the "Questions" column, and I'll get back to you as soon as possible. Of course, you can still email me if you prefer. Happy Monday and welcome back to school!
